I'm Petra. I live with my great love Leen and my dog Seppe in the Zeeland village of Wemeldinge.

In 2017 I needed something new. I had the opportunity to work less and started the Basic Photography Course. I then moved on to the Photography Course. I followed both courses at the Academy for Image Creation in Eindhoven.

My best decision in years!

I graduated in the field of "human interest", but was especially praised for my versatility.

Photography allows me to look better and reflect on beautiful and "really" important things in life. I am always looking for contact and the "individuality" of people. Photos tell stories and capture memories for later. I always strive to do that as best as possible.

In this way I tried to understand the other person and from there make contact”

This later turned into a career in the healthcare and social sector. After a career of more than thirty years, I have felt less and less at home in this world in recent years. I now happily focus entirely on photography.

Gaining the confidence to capture someone at important, beautiful, loving, fun or sad moments in life is something I experience as very special and valuable. Thankful that I can do this
